Known for its’ community spirit, Hyatt Regency Oubaai hotel is reaching out to the community once again. Hyatt Regency Oubaai & Interface by Goji is hosting its second FEMAIL business woman’s breakfast on Wednesday, 16 May 2012. After the resounding success of the first event, excitement is already building ahead of the 16th, not only because of the obvious value of a power breakfast for the Garden Route’s power women in business, but because of the exciting guest speaker already compiling figures and analysing trends ahead of the morning’s get-together.
Dawie Roodt, chief economist of Pretoria-based financial services company, the Efficient Group, economic and political analyst for over 20 years will get down to the Rands and cents of finance and share some of his (extremely experienced) insights about the future of world, South African and your business’ financial opportunities.
Among his myriad of achievements is 9 years as economist at the South African Reserve Bank and economic editor of Finance Week (now Finweek). He currently holds his own as prolific public speaker and host of KykNET’s morning show, Ontbytsake every Saturday. Known for his extensive knowledge of the South African economy, his analytical nature, exceptional communication skills and effortless way of translating complicated economic information into everyday language, Dawie is as loved in the boardroom as he is in the living room.
Not getting too stuck on the numbers game, Dawie has many hobbies and interests that include scuba diving, clay pigeon shooting, ichthyology (the study of fish) and the odd breakfast run on a Twin V. He received his national colours for powered paragliding and he even represented South Africa at the World Championship in China in 2007. He truly is a proud, multitalented patriot.
16 May is an opportunity to get up close and personal with undoubtedly one of South Africa’s most quoted (and knowledgeable) economists. Join Dawie, his wife Marina and financial advisor for the Efficient Group, Willem Basson for breakfast with a real business punch.
Tickets are selling at R140 pp and includes a full breakfast and a wonderful goodie bag. The event will start at 07h30 for 08h00 (breakfast is from 08h00 – 10h00) simply because they realise how much women have to fit into a normal day.
